Dear Neighbor,
Please find below information about the SH 29 Safety/Mobility Task Force for Williamson County, which was organized as part of the SH 29 Corridor Study. We wanted to share information about its progress and ask for your input on this important project.
Safety/Mobility Task Force
The Williamson County Commissioners’ Court created an advisory task force to examine and recommend ways to improve overall transportation safety and mobility on SH 29 for residents, businesses and visitors, while minimizing impacts to neighborhoods and communities.
The task force is made up of reprentatives from law enforcement, EMS, fire departments, the county, cities, school districts and TxDOT. It is now beginning to identify safety issues along SH 29 and would like your input at this early stage in the process. If you have safety or mobility concerns you would like to share, please send them to roads@wilco.org. The task force needs your help identifying the problems. Please include specific locations.
An example of the type of information the task force is seeking:
"I live in Gabriel's Overlook.Traffic along SH 29 moves too fast for me to safely enter or exit my neighborhood. Is it possible to add a deceleration lane to make right turns into the neighborhood."

The task force is gathering public input, as well as data such as traffic counts, accident reports, emergency response times and associated project costs. Once all of this is collected, the task force will prioritize issues to ensure available funding goes to address the greatest needs. In addition, coordination with TxDOT will be a part of the process as SH 29 is a state highway.
Again, please submit your SH 29 safety concerns to roads@wilco.org
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
